Hi there dog lovers, I’m Serena the girl behind Daydreamdog and the poodle in the picture is Mango! if you’ve made it this far perhaps you’d like to get to know me a little better, so here’s your chance.
I started the website to give myself a platform to share my enthusiasm and experience (20 years) with my favorite animal; dogs! I’m from a family of dog lovers, with parents who’ve always owned dogs and I guess that’s what sparked my love for them.
To me dogs aren’t just a part of the furniture, as cliché as it sounds they’re literally your best friend! When it comes to dogs, I don’t have a type; I’m really not fussy. Whether you’ve got a poodle or a husky, if it’s got an Instagram account I will find it and I will like your pictures! Not creepy at all eh?
Why I Started the Site
I started the website in 2018, after graduating with a psychology degree (my other passion is mental health) I had some free time on my hands over summer. I remember thinking to myself; if I don't start the site now will I ever? I guess what motivated me to start the website was the desire to feel like I can “give back” to the animals that have given me so much happiness. If my lifetime experience with dogs is able to help even one new owner treat their dog right, I’ll write till my fingers cramp up.
With the internet so jam-packed with information and not all of it good - I take my responsibility to share high-quality information very seriously. Despite the fact I'm not a vet, with expertise from two decades of exposure to dogs, and my research skills I always aim to produce content that meets professional consensus while putting a personal touch on it!
Connect With Me
If you want to connect with me on other platforms I have a Medium profile as well as a LinkedIn account (I keep Linkedin private so shoot me a message to introduce yourself or I may miss your request).
I love the feedback I’ve received so far on the site, and plan on continuously making it bigger and better! I’d like to say thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoy your visit here. I always welcome feedback from readers and I'd be more than happy to answer any queries you might have.Chow-chow for now!
